LEGO City 7937 Train Station
The LEGO City Train Station (Set No. 7937) is a rather smart add-on for use with the other train sets in the range. It consists of 361 pieces and is the perfect partner to the LEGO City Passenger Train. Well detailed and nicely designed to represent a busy modern station, it increases the opportunities for role play with a range of different features.
Let’s start with the minifigures. A traditionally suited and booted train driver is included, along with a smartly dressed taxi driver for ferrying passengers to and from the station. There’s one female traveller with brown ponytail and briefcase, plus a male minifigure with red hair, glasses, and backpack.
Now we’ve got the cast, it’s time to see what’s in store for them at the station. Measuring 29cm long, the station has shelters on both sides of the track. The larger of the two is a one-roomed affair with all the trimmings. It boasts train timetables, kiosk, individual seats outside, flowers, and a red ‘City’ sign on the roof. The secondary shelter comes with unmanned ticket machine on the edge of the platform, plus a blue bin next to the lamppost.
The two sides are joined together by a surprisingly elaborate pedestrian bridge with sturdy supports and two sets of graduated steps on either side. This makes the set more aesthetically pleasing and adds to the playability. Four straight track pieces complete the scene.
The bold yellow taxi is also worth a mention. It’s quite a big car, well designed, with rugged tyres and plenty of room inside.
Please note: the tracks are not compatible with LEGO 9V trains.
Suitable for children aged 5 and up, the LEGO City Train Station is available at around £34.99.
